The Embassy of Finland in Kabul is looking for a National Development Cooperation Assistant. Under the overall substantive supervision of the Head of Development Cooperation, the primary duties and responsibilities of the Assistant include:
Providing support to the oversight and monitoring of implementation of the development cooperation projects and programs funded by the government of Finland
Liaising with external partners, especially within the relevant line ministries and the civil society, including support to financial oversight and potentially field monitoring visits
Supporting the Embassy staff in all development cooperation related matters, including meeting arrangements and representing the Embassy in external meetings
Provision of unofficial interpretation and translations (Dari-English or Pashto-English)
Maintaining the development cooperation archive
Supporting the Embassy staff in external communications
Substituting the Assistant to the Ambassador or the Consular Services Assistant in core functions when necessary
Other duties as required.
Minimum three years of relevant work experience in administration, development cooperation or communications, preferably in a multicultural setting
Fluent knowledge of written and oral English language
Fluent knowledge of written and oral Dari language; knowledge of Pashto language is an advantage
A university diploma, preferably a Bachelor degree or higher in administration, economics, law, development studies, political sciences, social sciences or other related field.

Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop professionally
